Wood crackles under her every step, leaves rustling as her weight causes their branches to shudder. The earth whispers many a warning as flowers fall and scatter to the winds, a Luxray and Wooper crying for her to watch the very next step she might take.[break][break]

It's a long way down if she ever falters and slips, the pain will surely linger for days to come if it doesn't end her first. And to dare to risk it all - All of it, just to catch even a glimpse of what those above might see below.[break][break]

First comes the unending glow, the heat of the morning sun kissing her skin as she breaks through the canopy of leaves. Then comes the gentle winds, the faintest scents of freshly baked pastries and quiet conversations carried by the unseen messenger. Finally, the sight of how light cascades across this concrete jungle, washing the darkness from the streets and revealing every little secret behind the monsters that lurk in the night.[break][break]

Her hands reach up to the skies, as if her fingers might just be able to graze the surface of those clouds. Up here, she is unshackled, unburdened. Here, she is free from all her thoughts.

the smell of baked pastries comes from ollie as he walks along the cities cobblestones streets, having just stepped out of BulbaBakes. it was one of his favorite places to get sweets in evergrande; illeana reyes had introduced it to him just last month.

It's like a scene out of a fairytale, crimson gaze washing over the stunned passerby below.[break][break]

"Climbing a tree?" Comes her reply, holding a questioning tone as she wonders if he really hasn't caught on. "It's beautiful up here! Sun's out, wind's nice..."[break][break]

She looks down towards Reiner and Lyra, noting just how small they seem in comparison to how they really are. And as that realisation slowly sinks in, she becomes aware of just how thin the branch she stands upon is. There's no room for her to shift her stance, her hand grasping tighter to the tree trunk as she lets out a shaky breath, then smiles.[break][break]

"Did you wanna climb up here too?"

climbing a tree?

[break][break] "oh! good point. i like climbing trees too."

[break][break] his lips twist into a bright grin. ollie remembers climbing trees as a kid too, especially around the forests behind his house back in pallet town. both he and Eva Morales had once raced, seeing who could climb the highest.

[break][break] he glances sideways at him, just to see both his sawsbuck patter towards him on the pavement. they are almost like something out of the scene, the spring flowers on one sawsbuck matching the summer hues on the other.

[break][break] "nah," he says with a shrug. "i think i'm good from down here. plus, i might break that branch."

[break][break] the ranger smirks up at her.

[break][break] "by the way, what's your name? i'm ollie!"

[break][break] the summer sawsbuck snorted in reply, and the spring one dipped her head in greeting.
